Largo Shooting Victim Identified

The Largo Police Department has released some details related to a Tuesday shooting in a 137th Street North apartment.

LARGO, FL β€” As the Largo Police Department continues to investigate a Tuesday shooting that left one person injured, officers have released some details in the case.

According to the agency, police received several calls around 2:20 a.m. Jan. 3 about shots fired in the 11400 block of 137th Street North. When they arrived at the scene, they learned that several people inside an apartment β€œengaged in gunfire at one another and numerous rounds were shot,” an email from the agency said.

During the exchange of fire, Benjamin Martin, 28, was shot in the β€œlower extremity.”

Martin was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury, the agency said.

β€œThere are no other suspects identified at this time and illegal narcotic activity is suspected to be a factor involved,” police said.
