Man Killed In Largo Pedestrian Crash

LARGO, FL — The Largo Police Department is investigating a fatal Monday night collision involving a pedestrian.

According to the agency, officers were called out to the 15000 block area of U.S. 19 North just before midnight Dec. 26. When they arrived, they found a man dead.

Police say Russell Ippolito, 37, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck northbound in U.S. 19 North’s middle lane when he struck a man.

The pedestrian, police say, was walking across the highway, outside a marked crosswalk, when the crash occurred. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The identity of the pedestrian is not being released at this time.

Criminal charges are not expected in the case, police say.
