Pet Adoption Fees Waived For Father’s Day Week

Pinellas County Animal Services will waive fees in honor of fathers.

LARGO, FL – Once again, Pinellas County Animal Services will show love to all the dads in the community next week to celebrate Father’s Day.

Pinellas County Animal Services will waive adoption fees on all pets during the week of Father’s Day, from Monday, June 19 to Friday, June 23. In addition to the waived adoption fees, the adoption center, located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo, will be open until 7 p.m. on June 19 and June 23.

Also, every pet that gets adopted during the week will go home with a bag of food and a surprise treat.

“With the help of our committed volunteer network, we are able to offer the community extended hours to spend with the homeless adoptable pets in our adoption center,” said Doug Brightwell, director of Animal Services.

Pinellas County Animal Services has approximately 30 cats and 45 dogs available for adoption. A list of adoptable dogs and cats is available online at http://www.pinellascounty.org/animalservices/Adoption_Center.htm.

All adoptable dogs and cats receive a medical checkup, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, internal and external parasite control, heartworm tests, feline leukemia testing and microchipping, all valued at $200. Adoption counselors will be on hand during Father’s Day week to ensure the right pet goes home with the right family.

Pinellas County Animal Services regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday form 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the adoption center closing at 5:30 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rabies vaccinations are administered on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
