Pinellas To Host Veterans Services Info Session

LARGO, FL – For the second year in a row, Pinellas County will host an informative session aimed at helping veterans and their families find services available to them.

The county will host its second annual Veterans Services Information Session on Wednesday, May 24 from 9 to noon at the Pinellas County Extension Magnolia Room, 12520 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Pinellas County Veterans Services will host the educational meeting to answer questions and provide advice to veterans and their dependents regarding programs and services for which they may qualify.

“We are committed to serving our veterans and their families,” said Michael Hill, director of Pinellas County Veterans Services. “Any veteran or surviving dependent that needs help with government benefits will find this event beneficial. They can also call or come in to any of our office locations.”

Pinellas County Veterans Services not only provides information and help for veterans needing assistance, but also helps area veterans groups to honor veterans.

Last Memorial Day, Pinellas County partnered with local veterans groups to participate in the dedication ceremony of the Florida Veterans Memorial Plaza at Crest Lake Park in Clearwater. In 2015, the county dedicated a memorial to honor fallen Pinellas County heroes of the Gulf War ear. The Pinellas County Battlefield Cross Memorial is located at War Veterans’ Memorial Park in St. Petersburg.
