• Largo commission approves major wastewater, public works projects (tbnweekly.com) — Largo’s City Commission has approved $10.5 million in projects to stabilize wastewater treatment and overhaul the Public Works campus, moves that could affect future utility planning and city services. A four-year contract will replace the aging biosolids operation, while a new master plan will guide long-term upgrades, potential department relocations, and emergency operations improvements.
   

• Clock ticking on Tyrone Barnes & Noble (tbnweekly.com) — BayCare’s plan to turn the longtime Tyrone Barnes & Noble in St. Petersburg into a freestanding emergency room would add another ER option to a network that already includes Bardmoor Emergency Center in Largo. The project, funded through county bonds, leaves the bookstore’s closing date and possible relocation uncertain, even as BayCare promises about 40 new ER jobs.
