Pinellas Seeks Applicants for EMS Advisory Council
Two positions are available on the board that helps provide oversight to Pinellas emergency services.

LARGO, FL – Pinellas County residents have an opportunity to help guide the county Emergency Medical Services, even if they do not have a background in EMS.
Applications are now being accepted for two resident representative vacancies for a two-year term to the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council. The first vacancy represents Pinellas County Commission At-Large District 1 while the second vacancy represents Pinellas County Commission District 7.
Applicants must be registered to vote in Pinellas County and must be a full-time Pinellas County resident. It is not mandatory – but highly preferred – the applicant reside in the Commission District for the position they are applying for.

The county seeks to have a balanced cross-section of population on the EMS Advisory Council, including business and industry, civic organizations as well as consumers and lay people.
The objectives of the council are to study and analyze the procedures and protocols of emergency medical services throughout Pinellas County. The council recommends to the Board of County Commissioners (the EMS authority) and staff such actions deemed necessary to ensure high-quality emergency medical services throughout the county.

Meetings of the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council are held quarterly.
Mandatory online applications can be found at www.pinellascounty.org/boards and must be received no later than the close of business on Monday, June 12. The Board of County Commissioners will review all applications and make its selection at a future meeting.
