Pinellas Sheriff's Explorers Garner Wins At State Competition
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Cadet Unit 900​ participated in the 2022 Florida Association of Police Explorers State Competition.
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Cadet Unit 900 participated in the 2022 Florida Association of Police Explorers State Competition.
Cadet Unit 900 participated in scenario competitions against several other law enforcement explorer posts from across the state of Florida. The competitions took place from July 16 to July 23. The competition was held in Lake Mary.
The state scenario team comprised of Cadet Lt. Nylah Rosario, Cpl. Bo Brady, Curtis Yancey, Vlad Dianiak, Michael Lopez, Abdullah Khaleel, Mason Gamache, Giordana Messano and Lexi Matthews.

Rosari was awarded the FBI National Academy Associates Scholarship. This is a highly competitive program, run by a team of law enforcement training instructors. Candidates must have demonstrated high academic standards and good citizenship to be considered.
Cadets also participated in the firearms competition to include individual, team and steel target shooting. Individual shooting trophies were awarded to:

- Brady - first place in the sharp shooter division and first in the steel winners
- Gamache - first place in the tyro division
- Khaleel - second place in the tyro division
- Yancey - third place in the tyro division
- Rosari, Brady, Yancey and Khaleel - second place in the 767 3X team shooting.
Additionally, Rosario, Brady, Lopez, Khaleel and Matthews were awarded second place in the dril team.
