Police: Largo Man Raped Ex-Girlfriend After Hiding in Her Condo

The 20-year-old is accused of breaking into his ex's Kenneth City condo and waiting for her to arrive home, then raping her, police said.

A Largo man is accused of breaking into an ex-girlfriend's condominium and raping her when she returned home, police said Tuesday.

Preston Maurice Meierhoff, 20, allegedly broke into the Kenneth City condo and hid in a bedroom waiting for the woman and her current boyfriend to arrive home. When they did, Meierhoff allegedly attacked the boyfriend, forcing him to flee. He then held the woman against her will inside the condo and raped her, according to Kenneth City Police.

Officers forced their way into the condo and took Meierhoff into custody.

He was charged with battery, sexual battery, burglary to a residence and
false imprisonment. Meierhoff was being held in Pinellas County Jail on $30,500 bond and awaiting trial.
