Thanksgiving Feasts Distributed To Needy Families In Pinellas County

This is the 20th annual distribution event of the sheriff's office, Calvary Lutheran Church, the Indian Rocks Beach Rotary Club and Publix.

LARGO, FL — Cash-strapped families in Pinellas County were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings, thanks to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach, Calvary Episcopal Church and Publix.

Deputies assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Community Policing Unit loaded up their cruisers with Thanksgiving meals at the Publix in the Indian Rocks Shopping Center, 12022 Indian Rocks Road in Largo and delivered them to dozens of ffamilies in need.

The project was part of the 20th annual event to provide Thanksgiving meals to families who might not otherwise afford Thanksgiving dinner. The meals included a fully cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, a loaf of bread, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, snack cakes, iced tea and apple juice.
