Train Weekend, E-Waste, South Pacific

Train Weekend in Largo Central Park
Ride the miniature train through the oaks and greenspace at Largo Central Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend. There is no cost but donations to keep the trains running are accepted. To find out more check here.

South Pacific with the Eight O'Clock Theatre
Catch a performance of the romantic story set during World War II by the Eight O'Clock Theatre this weekend. Showtimes are at 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12.50-$25.50. Check here for more information.

E-waste and Chemical Collection

The annual Household Electronics and Chemical Mobile Collection Drive is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Starkey Road Recycling Center, 1551 Starkey Road.

What to bring:

Chemicals: automotive fluids, cleaners, fertilizers, fluorescent bulbs and other mercury containing devices, fungicides, herbicides, household batteries, paint (latex or oil), paint  remover, paint thinner, pesticides, pool chemicals, solvents, wood preservatives.

Electronics: TVs, VCRs, cell phones, computers, copiers, digital cameras, fax machines, microwave ovens, monitors, printers, printer cartridges, stereo equipment, telephones, etc.

Do not bring: appliances, biological and infectious waste, empty paint cans, explosives, fire extinguishers, garbage, propane tanks, radioactive waste, smoke detectors  and  vehicle  batteries.

All other chemicals and electronics will be accepted.

Learn the body cues, best rewards and clues your cat is trying to tell you at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the SPCA Tampa Bay How to Speak Cat program. Cost is $20-$25. Find out more here.

Go Old School With Your Comedy

The former Saturday Night Liver and star of multiple comedy hits is making his way to Tampa this weekend, Sept. 6-8. Schneider plans to hit the stage at the Tampa Improv in Ybor City several times during his stay. Check out the Improv’s website for show and ticket information.

Honor the Fallen

Want to show your gratitude to America’s fighting men and women? The 2013 Run for the Fallen Tampa Bay is set to take place this weekend at Hillsborough County’s Veterans Memorial Park. Check out St. Pete Patch for more details about the event that includes a number of activities, such as a motorcycle procession, a 5K run and a cook out.

A Food Truck Rally on Steroids

Missed the World’s Largest Food Truck Rally at the end of August? Don’t sweat it. The organizers behind the massive gathering have planned a part two. While this event isn’t set for this weekend, we wanted to get it on your radar early. The World’s Largest Food Truck Rally EVER Part 2(00) is set for March, according to Generation Food Truck’s Facebook page.
