• Dermatologist outspends Villager to win special state senate election (villages-news.com) — Lecanto resident and dermatologist Ralph Massullo has won the State Senate District 11 special election, taking 59 percent of the vote over Villages candidate Ash Marwah. The low-turnout race, held to replace Blaise Ingoglia, drew attention for a sharp fundraising gap and debate over a past Medicare fraud settlement that Massullo disputes.
