Leesburg police are investigating, and cybersecurity experts warn that increasingly realistic AI videos are making such cons harder to spot, especially for older residents. The case highlights how quickly online prize offers can devastate local families’ finances and relationships.
4. Commissioners debate road transfer, safety upgrades on Lake County's Number Two Road (clickorlando.com) — Neighbors who rely on Number Two Road between Howey‑in‑the‑Hills and Leesburg are pressing Lake County leaders over safety and growth as traffic increases. Commissioners delayed handing part of the road to Howey but immediately ordered a lower speed limit, new reflectors, and added curve signs while they study a possible transfer for six more months.
