Burglars Strike Oscar Cooler Sports Complex

Hillsborough County deputies are looking for help catching two people who broke into the Oscar Cooler Sports Complex Wednesday.

LUTZ, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for two people its deputies say broke into several buildings at the Oscar Cooler Sports Complex on Wednesday morning, helping themselves to thousands of dollars in cash, equipment and food.

According to the agency, the crime at the 770 W. Lutz Lake Fern Road sports complex happened around 4 a.m. March 8. Deputies say the thieves used pry bars to break into the concession stand, office and equipment storage areas. Once inside, they took about $1,000 in cash, $1,000 worth of sporting equipment and an estimated $1,500 in food. They are also accused of causing about $2,000 in damage to the property.

“It appears the suspects loaded the items into an unknown vehicle parked on the west side of Crooked Lane,” a Wednesday afternoon email from the sheriff’s office said.
