Community Heroes To Be Honored At 9/11 Memorial Mile, Ceremony

The Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel will host their third 9/11 ceremony Saturday morning at Tampa Premium Outlets.

LUTZ, FL — Hundreds of patriots will take to the streets around the Tampa Premium Outlets Saturday morning in a 1-mile run and walk to pay tribute to those who perished during the 9/11 terrorist attacks 20th years ago.

The Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel will host both live and virtual versions of its annual 9/11 Memorial Mile starting at 7:30 a.m., followed by a ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial Wall at Tampa Premium Outlets.

The cost to participate in the run is $10 and includes a goody bag, T-shirt and bib, which can be picked up in the Michael Kors pavilion of Tampa Premium Outlets from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday. Packet pickup for participants will be from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. Saturday.

Following the run at 8:30 a.m., there will be a 9/11 ceremony and tour of the 9/11 Memorial Wall at Tampa Premium Outlets.

For the third year, the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel will recognize people in the community for their heroism and sacrifices during the 9/11 Local Heroes Awards at Tampa Premium Outlets.

The 9/11 Memorial Wall was dedicated in 2019 and is a permanent reminder of the difference that residents can make in the community throughout the year.

Portions of the proceeds from the 9/11 Memorial Mile will benefit the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Scholarship Fund and other Rotary projects. Click here for information.
