ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — The city of Zephyrhills Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will host a public input meeting on the redevelopment of Zephyr Park on Thursday, April 27, 2 at 6 p.m., at the Zephyrhills City Hall Council Chambers, 5335 8th St.

During this meeting, the city's consultant, Kimley-Horn, will share a brief presentation on a preliminary park design concept completed in 2015, and then gather additional feedback and ideas from Zephyrhills residents.

With an influx of new residents, the city is seeking diverse opinions on desired features and amenities at Zephyr Park, 38116 5th Ave.

The city has budgeted plans to proceed with the redevelopment of Zephyr Park following the completion of the Hercules Park project. Land surveying and mapping of Zephyr Park is now underway.

Zephyr Park is a 34-acre park featuring the Alice Hall Community Center, Veterans Memorial, five lighted tennis courts, handball, fishing, picnic pavilions with picnic tables, barbecue grills, horseshoe pits, playground equipment and a lakeside fitness path.

Zephyr Park also includes many Civil War-era large oak trees that shade the park.
