Lutz Bicyclist Severely Injured on Livingston Avenue
The man made a U-turn directly into the path of northbound and southbound traffic, according to the sheriff's office.

A Lutz bicyclist received life-threatening injuries when he was hit on Livingston Avenue Thursday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Robert Bruce Haines II was riding his bike northbound on Livingston Avenue on the right paved shoulder at about 5:14 p.m.
At Andrea Lynn Drive, Haines made a U-turn directly into the path of northbound and southbound traffic, a media release stated.

A witness "narrowly missed" hitting Haines in the northbound lane. Haines then traveled into the southbound lane in the path of a Ford Thunderbird driven by Carlos Adames of Tampa.
Adames failed to see the bicyclist and struck the rear of the bicycle, ejecting Haines from the bike, according to the sheriff's office.

Haines, 24, of 2517 Mobilaire Drive in Lutz, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital with life threatening injuries.
