Lutz Centennial Planning Continues, Postal Stamp Announced
The next meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 17.

Planning for the Lutz Centennial Celebration is in full swing, and organizers say there is still plenty of time for community members to get involved.
"We're still in the processing of figuring out what events will be held and when," planning committee Secretary Terri Burgess said.
At the upcoming Dec. 17 meeting, attendees will discuss the types of events they would like to have, as well as locations and dates for those events, Burgess said.

Anyone with an interest in the community who would like to get involved with the planning is welcome to attend the meetings, she said.
So far, a concert in the park is planned, committee chairman Bob Moore said. That will likely take place in the spring.

There will be three or four centennial celebration events held throughout the year, Moore said, with the big event likely to take place on the Fourth of July, coinciding with the annual Lutz Fourth of July parade.
Lutz Centennial T-shirts have hit the market, with the first ones sold at the recent GFWC Woman's Club Arts and Crafts Festival.
Lutz also will soon have its own limited edition postal stamp, which will be available for purchase at the post office in July, Moore said.
The planning meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the Boy Scout Building, 205 – 2nd Ave. S.E. in Lutz.
