ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — A 73-year-old Zephyrhills man is dead after being struck by a sports utility vehicle early Saturday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 12:13 a.m., the man was walking in the right turn lane of State Road 581 at Chancey Road when he was struck by the SUV driven by a 40-year-old Wesley Chapel man.

The pedestrian died at the scene.
