ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — Parents can stop holding their breaths. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said rumors of a weapon on a school bus traveling from Zephyrhills High School and R.B. Stewart Middle School are unfounded.

Sheriff Chris Nocco said deputies repeatedly and thoroughly searched the school bus returning students back home on the second day of classes for the 2023-24 school year after his office received a report that a student on the bus had a weapon and was threatening violence against fellow students.

He said no weapon of any kind was found.
