Sports-Themed Skybox Rooftop Bar Offers Craft Brews, Cocktails

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — With the opening of the Skybox Rooftop Bar, both Pasco County residents and those visiting to attend sporting events at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus will be able to indulge in locally made craft beers and craft cocktails in an area now branded Florida's Sports Coast.

The Skybox Rooftop Bar sits atop the new, 128-room Residence Inn by Marriott Tampa Wesley Chapel at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus of Pasco County, which opened in December and is managed by Florida-based Mainsail Lodging & Development.

The rooftop bar overlooks the sprawling 80-acre Advent Health Sports Arena at the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus of Pasco County and surrounding wetlands, and can comfortably accommodate up to 142 guests atop the hotel’s fourth-floor rooftop.

The bar offers a variety of signature Tampa Bay craft beers including the Greenbench Postcard Pils, Big Storm Tropic Pressure Ale, the Brew Bus You're My Boy, Blue! Wheat Ale, Florida Avenue Luminescence Hazy IPA and the Cigar City Jai Alai IPA.

In keeping with its location next to the sports campus, the Skybox Rooftop Bar also serves craft cocktails with sports-themed names including the Bitter Coach, a mix of wheat beer, Aperol, Campari, Angostura and lemon; Serve it Up made with Bombay Dry, cucumber, mint, lime and sugar cane; and Penalty Kick, made with Corazón, spiced agave, lime and fever tree grapefruit.

The bar menu features a variety of fine wines and premium liquors as well.

For those with post-game munchies, the rooftop bar has added a dining menu featuring American contemporary cuisine starters.

Fan favorites include Bavarian pretzel rolls with beer cheese; the “Tampa Classico” chopped romaine and iceberg salad with salami, ham, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, green olives and garlic oregano vinaigrette; a BBQ pulled pork wrap with barbecue sauce; and a roasted vegetable wrap with zucchini, squash, pepper, onions, tomatoes, black bean spread and honey white balsamic vinaigrette.

The rooftop bar at 2867 Lajuana Blvd., Wesley Chapel, is open Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m.; Friday from 4 to 11 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 11 p.m.; and Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m.
