St. Joseph’s Hospital-North Chief Named To YMCA Governance Board
Dr. Christopher Bucciarelli will help "ensure the Y is executing its cause-driven purpose to strengthen the community."

Dr. Christopher Bucciarelli, chief medical officer at St. Joseph's Hospital-North in Lutz, recently was named to the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Governance Board. According to the Y’s website, “Governance Board Members provide fiduciary oversight, set strategic direction and ensure the Y is executing its cause-driven purpose to strengthen the community.”

The website lists 27 community members and leaders, including Dr. Bucciarelli, as governance board members. The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA has 15 locations in Hillsborough and Pasco counties including locations in Carrollwood, Dade City, Zephyrhills and New Tampa.
“I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to join such a great organization with amazing leadership and involvement,” Dr. Bucciarelli said. “My hope is to be able to contribute to the already strong governance board and to help provide guidance for the Y to expand their footprint and impact within our community. BayCare and the YMCA have had a close working relationship for a very long time. I want to strengthen that bond by creating collaborative efforts that have a positive impact to our community.”

St. Joseph’s Hospital-North is a BayCare hospital. BayCare has 15 hospitals and hundreds of other locations throughout Tampa Bay and central Florida regions including acute care, primary care, imaging, laboratory, behavioral health, home care and wellness
As St. Joseph’s Hospital-North’s chief medical officer, Dr. Bucciarelli assists doctors in providing safe, effective medical care. His responsibilities include training new physicians on the hospital’s policies and keeping staff current on health regulations. He also provides clinical oversight to physicians, ensures regulatory compliance and evaluates quality of services. Dr. Bucciarelli also represents the hospital at BayCare and community meetings.
Dr. Bucciarelli succeeds Keri Eisenbeis, BayCare’s vice president of government and community relations, on the YMCA governance board. Keri has had leadership roles with the Tampa Metropolitan Y since 2002 and was a governance board member since 2011. She reached the maximum time a member can serve on the governance board.
