Here are the top stories today in Miami:
- The Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets 11-6 on Sunday to secure their spot in the NFL playoffs. The win ended a 5-game losing streak for the Dolphins. Miami will play at Buffalo in the first round of the playoffs this weekend. (WSVN)
- Several members of a Fort Lauderdale family were hospitalized after their home burned down on Sunday morning. The incident happened near the 200 block of Northwest 67th Street. The cause of the fire is under investigation. (WPLG Local 10)
- Miami voters in District 2 will vote in a special election on Feb. 27 to fill the empty seat vacated by former commissioner Ken Russell after a meeting on Sunday approved the special election. District 2 includes Coconut Grove through Brickell, downtown, Edgewater and Morningside. (Miami Herald)
- Four men were indicted on maritime drug-trafficking charges last month in a large-scale cocaine bust that came from U.S. Coast Guard operations in the Caribbean. The accused men were indicted in the Southern District of Florida on Dec. 14. The defendants said they were from Venezuela, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. (Miami New Times)
- The number of migrant landings in Florida has soared more than 400 percent from a year ago, according to U.S. Border Patrol. Most of those migrants are landing in South Florida, like the recent surge of Cubans that hit the Keys which hit over 700 migrants. (WPTV)

- French Montana and members of his team sought safety and hid in a KFC in South Florida after gunfire in Miami Gardens. A witness told TMZ that the group hid at the fast food restaurant for at least 30 minutes after the incident. (TMZ)
- Research suggests that iguanas in South Florida are adapting to the climate in the cold. Iguanas carry infectious bacteria, such as Salmonella, and devour endangered plants and animals and as well as damaging seawalls and canal banks. (NBC Miami)
