1. A masked, latex-clad, and self-proclaimed "mistress" has gone viral for asking the Fort Lauderdale City Commission to use taxpayer money to build a BDSM dungeon, according to multiple reports. During her speech she said, "I look forward to spanking each and every one of you at the new esteemed dungeon." (Miami Patch)

2. A record number of passengers hit Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, as delays and cancellations piled up at the busy airports. More than 1,250 flights scheduled for Friday were canceled in the Midwest or East Coast, according to flight data. (NBC Miami, WSVN)

3. A group of South Florida Walgreens stores have traded hands for a combined $33.7 million, according to The Real Deal. Walgreens will continue to operate the stores as part of the deal. The sales happened in Jupiter, Miami, and Boca Raton. (The Real Deal - Miami)

4. Rod Velez, who won the Broward County District 1 seat in November, has been removed from office by Governor Ron DeSantis over a felony conviction. On Thursday, DeSantis issued an executive order stating that "per Florida Statutes, a vacancy in office occurs 'upon the refusal of the person elected or appointed to accept the office,' and that a vacancy in office shall occur 'upon the failure of a person elected or appointed to office to qualify for office within 30 days from the commencement of the term of office.'" 5. Local leaders are asking residents to preparing for incoming cold weather this weekend. The Miami-Dade Homeless Trust has opened its shelters for the homeless and activated its Cold Weather Emergency Plan. People are asked to plan accordingly as a winter chill passes through. (CBS Miami)
