  1. City of Miami has been named No. 41 on the dirtiest cities in America. The study was conducted by lawn care company, LawnStarter. Miami was beat by Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale in South Florida on the list. (Florida Patch)
  2. A pregnant woman in Miami-Dade jail on murder charges is asking to be released from prison because the unborn child within her is not charged with any crime. The case could set a precedent after Republicans extended rights to unborn children in Florida. (WPLG Local 10)
  3. A Sunrise police officer facing child pornography charges fled from court in South Florida on Monday hidden behind a hoodie, mask, and glasses allegedly to avoid questions from the media. An internal affairs investigation by Sunrise Police Department and the FBI led to the charges against the officer. (WPLG Local 10)
  4. Doral schools will return back to normal operations after smoke from a fire at a Miami-Dade County waste-to-energy plant has decreased to levels officials said is safe for the public. All schools are returning to normal operations today, although there will be no activities outdoors after sunset. The EPA recently recommended that people stay inside to avoid "unhealthy" levels of air quality. (NBC Miami)
  5. Miami's Magic City Casino has been acquired in a deal valued at nearly $600 million. Florida Gaming Control Commission permitted the transfer of the assets. It could be the largest deal in Florida casino history. (Subscription: South Florida Business Journal)
