MIAMI BEACH, FL β Art Basel in Miami Beach is back in full swing after taking a year hiatus during the pandemic. From dozens of shows packed with top celebrity attendees to a $4 million Banksy sale, this year's Art Miami is already shaping up to be one to remember.
Of the buzz worthy galleries is that of a ten-year-old contemporary artist named Andres Valencia, whose entire gallery has nearly sold out. Actress Sophia Vergara bought one of his pieces with big names like Channing Tatum, Jordan Belfort, and artist Shepard Fairey stopping by his booth to check out his work, according to a spokesperson for Chase Contemporary, reported AP.
Banksyβs Charlie Brown, which was shown at the Maddox Gallery, sold for a cool $4 million dollars on Tuesday. This was the first year the popular artist had a large collection of original work at the festival. On Tuesday night Louis Vuitton had its first ever U.S. show with guest like Kim Kardashian West and Rihanna in attendance.
