James Kennedy Pumps Beats that Rule

The Vanderpump Rules Star Spins the Decks in Miami This Saturday at Celeb Bash for Supermodels Unlimited Magazine

Supermodels Unlimited Magazine celebrates its 22nd anniversary and the release of its Summer β€œBeautiful” issue with a charity fashion show at Clevelander Rooftop Terrace this Saturday. Jordan Kimball from ABC’s The Bachelorette will host along with Miami-based beauty influencer Lisa Opie. Celebrities from America’s Next Top Model’s Yoanna House and Laura Cianciolo to Below Deck Mediterranean's Kasey Cohen and Vogue Transgender model Lauren Foster will strut down the Supermodels Unlimited runway, presenting summer collections from several designers including Miami-based PinkApple Dresses.

James Kennedy, the sweet looking and even sweeter sounding star of Vanderpump Rules, will be the evening’s DJ. β€œI’ve been DJing events for SU mag for a few years now, including their New York Fashion Week party in 2019,” he said earlier this week. β€œThat was a night to remember! The show was incredible, the music was on point, and everybody had an amazing time!” He’s excited to do it again in Miami this weekend. We spoke with him to learn more.

Has Vanderpump Rules changed your life?
James Kennedy: It has taught me so many valuable life lessons. It has also opened doors for me. I’ve been able to create an entire career around DJing music. It’s always been my passion and what fuels me and I have the show to thank for it.

James with Lisa Vanderpump on Bravo's 'Vanderpump Rules'

How would you describe your relationship with Lisa Vanderpump?
James Kennedy: I love Lisa. She gave me a job at SUR at such a young age. I was probably too young but she saw potential in me. She’s also given me the greatest advice along the way. Honestly, she’s family! I’m incredibly grateful to Lisa for always believing in me.

What are the best perks of being a reality star?

James Kennedy: I would say one of the best perks is I get to attend cool rooftop events like the Supermodels Unlimited Magazine party at Clevelander and I get a lot of free stuff! In all seriousness, I love collaborating and working with so many amazing people on the show. Not only the people on camera but the many incredible talents behind the scenes as well.

Have you gotten used to the cameras following you everywhere?
James Kennedy: It’s definitely gotten easier over the years but truthfully, I have always been pretty comfortable around cameras. Most times, I forget they’re even there!

Do you enjoy being recognized on the street?
James Kennedy: If I’m wearing a cool outfit, I love it! I rarely say no to a photo. I pretty much always say yes unless I’m in a complete hurry at the airport.

Do you have any special surprises in store for the Supermodels Unlimited Magazine party at Clevelander?
James Kennedy: Yes, there will be surprise celeb performance! Also, the editors of Supermodels Unlimited Magazine will hold a live model search for their next cover model at the party! What is probably most important to me, though, is that the event will conclude with a grand finale with all show models dressed in blue and yellow, as a special nod of support for the people of Ukraine that have been devasted by war. The night is a benefit for Heart to Heart, an organization that is providing relief to the suffering in Ukraine. I encourage everyone to come to the champagne reception from 8 – 9pm to spend time with the celebrity models and discuss the important work of Heart to Heart.
