North Miami Beach Tailor Awarded Comcast RISE Grant
Aventura Tailors Has Received $10K To Help Grow Their Business from Comcast
Comcast RISE has awarded a $10,000 grant to Aventura Tailors, a family owned and operated business at 2221 NE 164th Street in North Miami Beach. Aventura Tailors provides a variety of services, including alterations, full service custom tailoring and fashion design.
Aventura Tailors received this grant as part of the Comcast RISE Investment Fund, which looks to help evolve small, minority-owned businesses. According to a Comcast rep, 100 businesses in the Miami area were awarded via this grant last month.
Comcast created this initiative in 2020 to help strengthen and empower women and minority-owned small businesses hit by COVID-19 after studies concluded that Black, Hispanic, and Asian American-owned small businesses were hit the hardest by the pandemic, and that women-owned businesses have been growing at only half the rate of those run by men due to their lack of access to capital and other resources.
