MIAMI, Fl — The oldest resident of Miami Beach just shored up her title. Isabel Castaño turned 112 on Thursday. The “supercentennial,” who already had a day named for her in Miami Beach, now has one in Miami. She celebrated her big day at the Ponce Plaza Nursing Center on SW 12th Avenue surrounded by family, friends and nursing home staff.
Isabel's son, Daniel, described his mother's mind as "scrumptious" and said her long life has been an enormous gift.
"I'm very happy and very grateful," Isabel said in Spanish through her son. "May God bless you."
