• Milton PD responds to report of suspected explosive device (fox10tv.com) — Milton police and state bomb technicians safely removed a suspected explosive device found among an elderly resident’s belongings on Clayton Lane, after evacuating the home and alerting a nearby school and business. Officials say the item appears to have been stored long-term without malicious intent, and was taken offsite for controlled disposal.
   

• Milton man sentenced to 42 months for firearm possession as a felon (weartv.com) — A 34-year-old Milton resident has been sentenced in federal court to three and a half years in prison for illegally possessing three firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon. Authorities say the case, investigated with help from Santa Rosa and Escambia deputies, also added prison time for violating his supervised release on an earlier drug and firearm conviction.
