• Broward superintendent recommends seven schools for closure next school year (wlrn.org) — Families in Miramar face major school changes as Broward’s superintendent recommends closing Sunshine Elementary and shifting some Hallandale High students to Miramar High starting in the 2026–27 school year. The plan, meant to address deep enrollment declines and a $94 million budget gap, would consolidate students across multiple Broward schools and repurpose emptied campuses.
   

• Soccer Recap: Western Has No Trouble Against West Broward (maxpreps.com) — Western High’s dominant soccer season includes a big road win at Miramar, part of a run of six victories by three goals or more. Their latest 5-2 win over West Broward pushed Western to 7-0-2, while West Broward slipped to 4-5-1. Both teams have already followed up with additional wins later in the week.
   

• Governor DeSantis to hold roundtable in Jupiter (cw34.com) — Miramar appears here as the site of a past immigration-enforcement news conference featuring Gov. Ron DeSantis, while his newest public event is a roundtable in Jupiter on Monday morning. The discussion will be held at FAU’s Wilkes Honors College Student Resources Building starting at 9 a.m., though the governor’s office has not yet released details on the topic or participants.
