2. When the Naples Pier is demolished, where will debris go? (fox4now.com) — Naples officials have secured an $11.4 million FEMA grant to demolish the damaged Naples Pier starting in early January, clearing the way for a full rebuild. Debris will be sorted at Bayview Park and a Jolley Bridge staging area, where reusable materials may become artificial reefs and massive new pilings will be loaded, with brief, announced traffic delays expected.

DNA breakthrough identifies Collier County woman after 50 years (winknews.com) — Collier County investigators have finally identified the woman long known as “Naples Jane Doe” as Darlene Schaub, using advanced forensic genetic genealogy. Her remains were found off Turner River Road in 1975, and the homicide case is now formally reopened. Deputies are asking anyone with information to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
