1 Pedestrian Killed, 1 Injured in Hudson Crash
Breaking: A Hudson man died and a Port Richey man suffered serious injuries during a Tuesday night accident on New York Avenue.

HUDSON, FL — A 32-year-old Hudson man is dead and a Port Richey man injured following a Tuesday night crash on New York Avenue at Vine Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2003 Dodge Ram driven by Louis Yager, 25, of New Port Richey was heading west on New York Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 30. As Yager approached the intersection with Vine Street, two men were walking westbound on New York Avenue in the road, a highway patrol report said.
Yager, troopers wrote, was unable to see the men, who were wearing dark colored clothing. The roadway was also dark, troopers noted.

Yager’s Dodge struck Richard Bator of Hudson, throwing him into Mitchel Melendy, 29, of Port Richey, the highway patrol said. Both men were taken to Bayonet Point Medical Center. Bator died later from his injuries, troopers say. Melendy suffered serious injuries.
No charges were filed in the case.
