Port Richey Issues Boil Water Notice

Residents in a Port Richey subdivision and travel park are being asked to boil water after a Monday water main break.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A Monday morning water main break near the Brown Acres subdivision in Port Richey has officials asking residents to take measures to safeguard health. The city has issued a boil water notice for both the east and west sides of the Brown Acres subdivisions and the JayMar Travel Park.

All consumable water should be boiled, the city reported in an email to media. The recommendation is to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

The boil water request will remain in place until water passes bacteriological testing, the city said. It is unclear at this time how long that might take.
