2 Women Killed, 2 Children Injured In Near Head-On Crash In Pasco: FL Troopers

Two women were killed and two children injured after a near head-on crash between a truck and a minivan in Pasco County, FL troopers said.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Two women were killed and two children were injured Monday night in a near head-on collision involving a truck and a minivan in Pasco County, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

A 76-year-old Zephyrhills woman was driving a Chrysler Pacifica east on Blanton Road around 10:40 p.m.

For an unknown reason, north of Platt Road, her minivan crossed into the westbound road and crashed into a Dodge Ram 2500 towing a utility trailer that was heading in the opposite direction, FHP said.

The van’s driver was brought to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Her passenger, a 60-year-old Ohio woman, died at the scene, troopers said.

The truck’s driver, a 37-year-old Dade City man, and a passenger, a 41-year-old Dade City woman, were uninjured in the crash.

Two children in the truck, a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were brought to an area hospital, FHP said.
