Turkey Tussle Resulted in Thanksgiving Stabbing: Deputies
Pasco County deputies say a New Port Richey woman threw a steak knife at her husband after a fight erupted over Thanksgiving dinner.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 55-year-old New Port Richey woman faces criminal charges after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say she stabbed her husband during a fight over how their Thanksgiving turkey was prepared.
The incident in question unfolded just after noon on Nov. 24 in the 9000 block of Ruger Drive. Deputies say Vicky Lee Millsaps and her husband, Hershel, got into an argument about how their turkey had been cooked. That argument took a dangerous turn when Vicky picked up a steak knife and threw it at Hershel, an arrest report stated.
The knife stuck in Hershel’s chest, causing enough damage that he required emergency transportation to a local hospital, the report noted.

That story, however, wasn’t the one the couple told deputies when they first responded to the call, the report said. Hershel initially told deputies he tripped and fell on an electric carving knife. Deputies said that story just didn’t add up because they found a “bloody, common steak knife on a dining table,” an email from the agency noted.
After a little pressing, Hershel told deputies he didn’t want to get his wife in trouble. The two, the report said, argued and the knife was thrown after Hershel called Vicky a bad name.

Vicky Millsaps now faces one count of domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Herschel was hospitalized following the incident, but is expected to recover, the sheriff’s office said.
It is unclear just who cooked the turkey.
