Woman Asked Man to Shower, Stole His Motorcycle, Deputies Say

A Facebook meetup took a criminal turn recently when Pasco County deputies say a woman set up a man to steal his motorcycle.

HUDSON, FL — A man who decided to meet up with a woman he met on Facebook recently found himself out of a motorcycle, but did get a shower out of the deal, deputies say.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the man, who is not being identified, met up with the woman on Aug. 10. Once at the woman’s home on Forestdale Drive in Hudson, the woman asked her newfound friend to take a shower, an arrest report stated.

The man agreed to enter the shower alone, the report said. As the water was running down, however, the man learned he was getting soaked by more than water, deputies say.

As the man showered, the woman is accused of helping herself to his wallet and keys. She then hopped on his bike and drove away.

“The victim heard his motorcycle being started while he was in the shower,” the arrest report noted.

When the victim dried off, he discovered the woman was indeed gone and so were his belongings, the report said. Two men who were in the home when he initially arrived were still there, the report added.

One of the men who was in the home later told deputies the woman “invited the victim over with the intention of stealing his motorcycle,” the sheriff’s office wrote in its Monday Morning Snapshot report.

Katrina Ann Smith, 31, was brought into custody on Sunday. She faces a count of grand theft motorcycle and was last being held in the Pasco County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
