Afternoon Fire Guts Thonotosassa Home

THONOTOSASSA, FL — A fire in Thonotosassa left a home gutted Tuesday.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called to 9933 E Fowler Ave. in Thonotosassa just after 2 p.m. and arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the home, located on a dirt road.

Crews performed an aggressive interior attack to keep the blaze in check and were able to put out the fire in about 15 minutes.

There was no one inside the home when the fire broke out. The cause is under investigation.
