Bucs Ronde Barber Makes Semifinalists List for Hall Of Fame

Former Bucs defensive end Simeon ​Rice and safety John Lynch also made the semifinals list for the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.

TAMPA, FL — Former Bucs defensive back Ronde Barber is among 27 semifinalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Barber made the class of 2018 list in his first year of eligibility. Former Bucs defensive end Simeon Rice also made the semifinals list.

Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and wide receiver Randy Moss also among the semifinalists, the Associated Press reported. Others in their first year of eligibility who made the cut are linebacker Brian Urlacher, defensive lineman Richard Seymour and offensive lineman Steve Hutchinson. Other previously eligible players making the semifinals list for the first time are LeRoy Butler, Leslie O'Neal and Everson Walls.

The election for the class of 2018 will be held Feb. 3. Induction ceremonies will be in August at Canton, Ohio.

Already chosen as finalists are Bobby Beathard as a contributor, and Robert Brazile and Jerry Kramer as senior candidates, the AP reported.

The other semifinalists are former Bucs safety John Lynch, Steve Atwater, Tony Boselli, Isaac Bruce, Don Coryell, Roger Craig, Brian Dawkins, Alan Faneca, Torry Holt, Joe Jacoby, Edgerrin James, Jimmy Johnson, Ty Law, Kevin Mawae, Karl Mecklenburg, Terrell Owens and Hines Ward.
