‘Heavily Armed’ Man Robbed Fletcher Avenue Bank: Sheriff’s Office
Hillsborough County deputies are looking for a man who robbed a Fletcher Avenue bank Wednesday afternoon.
TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying a man its deputies say robbed a Chase Bank branch on Fletcher Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
According to the agency, the man walked into the 2802 E. Fletcher Ave. bank around 2 p.m. Nov. 16. The man proceeded to walk up to a teller and produced a note that implied “he was ‘heavily armed,’” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, deputies say the man left the bank on foot heading in an eastbound direction.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 to 30 years of age. He stands about 6-foot-8 and has a thin build, short hair, black mustache and goatee. The man was last seen wearing a maroon checkered shirt under a black jacket. He also had on blue jeans with white discolorations on the front and was carrying a black backpack.
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. Tips may also be submitted to Crime Stoppers for eligibility for a possible cash reward. Crime Stoppers’ number is 1-800-873-TIPS.
