Helmets, Shoulder Pads Stolen From Youth Football Complex
More than $2,500 worth of equipment was stolen from the Thonotosassa Football Complex.
THONOTOSASSA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary at the Thonotosassa Football Complex in which more than $2,500 worth of youth football equipment was stolen.
According to the sheriff's office, between 8:40 p.m. on July 30 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1, someone broke into the storage area that houses football equipment at the football complex, 10115 Main St.
The robber cut a combination padlock that secured an interior room containing additional equipment and stole 25 shoulder pads and 10 football helmets.

The football complex does not have security cameras.
"The stolen equipment is used by a youth football league," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "They are left not only wondering who is responsible for this crime but also trying to figure out how they will participate in a sport that they love."
