Lettuce Lake Park Hosting Educational Nature Programs

The themed programs kick off the weekend of Jan.5-6.

What:     Park Ranger Nature Educational Programs at Lettuce Lake Park

When:    Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m. and again at Noon

Where:   Lettuce Lake Park, 6920 E. Fletcher Ave. in Tampa (Meet inside Visitor Center)

Cost:       $5 per child and one adult; $2 per vehicle up to eight people per car park entry fee.

Join Hillsborough County’s Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department in January and February for fun and exciting hands-on programs for participants of all ages. Participation cost is $5 per child, and children must be accompanied by an adult, parent(s) or guardian. Adults without children may join for $5 – we’re all kids at heart! Only cash payments are accepted at this time.

Jan. 13 - Woodpeckers of Lettuce Lake

Jan. 19 and 20 - Dehydrating Fruit and Jerky!

Jan. 26 and 27 - Native Plant Seed Exchange – Bring Your seeds!

Feb. 2 and 3 - Making Homemade Yogurt and Butter

Feb. 10 - Sandhill Cranes and Woodstorks – Our Tall Birds

Feb. 16 and 17 - Vermiculture – Grow Your Own Worms!

Feb. 23 and 24 - Live Snakes, Touch and Hold Them at  Lettuce Lake Park!
