Lowry Park Zoo Animals Party in New Tampa
The zoo is bringing animals to home parties to teach people more about its programs.

Guests at a party thrown by former state Rep. Shawn Harrison at his New Tampa home included Hillsborough County Commission board chairman Ken Hagan, Lowry Park Zoo Development Directory Debbie Duncan, and a Eurasian eagle owl.
That’s according to a story on TBO.com, which described the Feb. 16 party in Hunter’s Green as a way for Lowry Park Zoo to teach the 40 guests what the nonprofit zoo has to offer.
It was the first of a series of promotional parties the zoo is having in people's homes, the story states. The parties feature food and drinks, a short presentation and visits from various animals. Future parties will take place in South Tampa, Avila, Tampa Palms and St. Petersburg.
