Man Arrested In New Mexico Driving Car Of Woman Killed In Tampa
A 28-year-old man has been arrested in New Mexico driving the car of a woman he is accused of killing in Thonotosassa.
THONOTOSASSA, FL — A 28-year-old man has been arrested in New Mexico driving the car of a woman he is accused of killing in Thonotosassa.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office discovered the woman dead after being call to her home in the 9400 block of Goldenrod Road to conduct a welfare check around 2 p.m. Dec. 11.
The sheriff's investigation led them to Trent Diggs and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Friday, the sheriff's office announced that Diggs had been arrested by the New Mexico State Police driving the dead woman's car.
He's been charged with premeditated first-degree murder with a weapon, violation of a domestic violence injunction and armed burglary. He is being held in a New Mexico detention facility until he can be extradited to Florida.

"We are devastated to see such senseless violence end someone’s life," said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This cruel violence will not be tolerated in our community, and will not go unpunished.”
