Dash To These Top Bakeries In FL, New Survey Says

Three bakeries in Florida have been recognized for their sweet holiday treats, according to a new DoorDash ranking.

The food-delivery service, on Dec. 11, named the top 50 bakeries for holiday indulgence across the U.S. At these shops, customers can partake in seasonal pies, various cupcakes and the not-so-favorable fruitcake.

“The holidays call for simple joys – and that includes dessert,” Ruth Isenstadt, head of U.S. restaurants at DoorDash, said in the report. “The Holiday Dessert 50 celebrates the neighborhood spots that anchor their communities with sweetness and creativity. This season, convenience is a gift in itself, and we’re proud to help people enjoy their favorite sweets on-demand while also supporting local small businesses.”

According to DoorDash, the honorees secured the highest average customer ratings, had less than 10 locations and boasted more than 500 customer reviews.

In Florida, three rising stars are:

• Gretchen's Goodies, Riverview

  • Creates desserts perfect for traveling, per the owners.
  • Has a 4.7 out of 5 DashPass rating.
  • Offers the Biscoff cookie butter pie, Oreo mousse pie, brownie cheesecake, Snickers cheesecake, French silk chocolate mousse pie, Mississippi mud pie, tres leches cake and Reese's peanut butter cake.
  • DoorDash reviewers say "these goodies are sooooo good" and the treats are tasty, while one reviewer who gave Gretchen's a 10/10 proclaimed it is "always a win with gretchens!"
• Mo cookies, Tallahassee
  • 1705 W. Tennessee St.
  • Specializes in high-quality cookies, per the owners.
  • Has a 4.8 out of 5 DashPass rating.
  • Offers the following flavors: cookies 'n creme, s'mores, chocolate chip stuffed with Nutella, M&M, Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, cinnamon apple, birthday cake and guava cream cheese.
  • DoorDash reviewers enjoyed the chocolate chip signature Mo' cookie and noted the treats are consistently warm and fresh.

  • Offers sticky buns, guava and cheese-stuffed bread, crumb cakes, cinnamon rolls, eclairs, turnovers, cream horns, chocolate cigars, cheesecake brownies, Boston creme cupcakes, amaretto cupcakes and various pies and cookies.
  • DoorDash reviewers complemented the taste of the food at Moreno and noted the "great assortment" and "pretty good size."
