Motorists Beware: Night Lane Closures on I-75

An update from the Florida Department of Transportation.

Work on the New Tampa Bridge project is necessitating a series of lane closures on I-75.

One lane will be closed on northbound and/or southbound I-75 between Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (Exit 270) and State Road 56 (Exit 275) on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 12-13).

The southbound closures will be from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.; the northbound closures will be 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

The $12.4 million New Tampa Bridge project is ahead of schedule right now, according to Tampa city officials. While the contract required completion date is May 2013, the bridge that will span I-75 from Commerce Park to New Tampa boulevards may open sometime in the first quarter of 2013.
