Polish emigre Christopher Zacharkiewicz cast his vote for Mitt Romney.

This presidential election is a big one for Christopher Zacharkiewicz, too.

Although he has lived in the United States since 1988, the Polish-born Zacharkiewicz received citizenship just a year ago.

"I'm very, very excited," he said with a smile after voting at the New Tampa Community Recreation Center. "This is my new experience."

"President (Barack) Obama promised us -- the middle class -- more, but he didn't (deliver)," he said.

Zacharkiewicz, who runs a physical therapy clinic, believes Romney will do more to support small businesses.

Although he has never voted before, navigating the process was quite simple, Zacharkiewicz said. And the experience is one he will relish.

"It's a very big day for me," he said.
