Terrace Community Middle School Students Help Fight Cancer Around the World

The school's Student Government Association sold churros and hot chocolate and walked the track at Greco Middle School during last weekend's Relay for Life.

Terrace Community Middle School students, parents, faculty and administration came together to raise funds to fight cancer during the Temple Terrace Relay for Life April 26-27 at Greco Middle School in Temple Terrace.

This year's theme was "Fighting Cancer Around the World" and the students representated the country of Spain.

The school's Student Government Association participates each year and is responsible for fundraising for the event.

Students sold churros and hot chocolate, dressed in Spanish attire and spent the night walking the track and participating in the relay events, raising $11,500, nearly double their goal of $6,000.

Student Government Association co-sponsors, Cecilia  Diaz, Spanish teacher, and Rocio Castillo, paraprofessional, were this year's co-captains.
