Thieves Steal Loose Change From Gas Station Vacuum Machines

THONOTOSASSA, FL -- Somebody is stealing loose change from auto vacuum machines at area gas stations.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating a series of thefts that began March 21. In all, three machines have been pried open and thieves have stolen a total of $877 in change.

The gas stations targeted include the Circle K at 12850 Morris Bridge Road, Thonotosassa; the 7-Eleven at 5601 E. Fletcher Ave., Tampa; and the Circle K at 14611 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. in Tampa.

The thieves could be traveling in a white or faded tan work van or a pickup truck with a topper.
