University Area Man Fatally Shot During Drug Buy

TAMPA, FL — One person is dead following a drug-related shooting at a University Area apartment complex Friday night.

At 7:15 p.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Lago Bello Apartments, 13503 Gragston Circle in Tampa for a fatal shooting.

According to deputies, during a drug transaction inside one of the apartments, multiple shots were fired and a 21-year-old man who was selling drugs was killed by a buyer.

Deputies said the buyer fired multiple shots, injuring a 25-year-old man who was also in the apartment. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Detectives are now trying to identify the dead man and are interviewing the shooter who remained at the scene.
