Wesley Chapel Motorcyclist in Stable Condition Following Crash

A Wesley Chapel motorcyclist is in stable condition following a serious crash this morning at Ashley Drive and Twiggs Street in Tampa.

Peter Mitchell, 52, of Strike the Gold Lane, was thrown from his motorcycle around 7 a.m. and taken to Tampa General Hospital, according to an afternoon news release from Tampa Police.

A tampabay.com article earlier reported Mitchell was in critical condition.

Mitchell was in a crash with a 1987 Toyota pickup truck driven by Kenneth Moore, 54, of South Tacon Street in Tampa.

Tampa Police are reviewing video from local businesses and closed circuit cameras to determine who is at fault in the accident that snarled traffic during rush hour.
